UPDATE: Frozen Fenway Pre-Pre-Game

While you can thank us for having Maine’s Frozen Fenway game moved up so as not to interfere with the Patriots playoff game, today’s move is strictly Mother Nature’s doing. While many are scrambling to adjust plans, at Fill the Steins we are embracing the weather and saying when it rains, WE POUR!

If you missed the news, UMaine will now face-off against Boston University at 3pm on Saturday in hopes of avoiding heavy rain later that afternoon. This is the second time change for the game in as many days as the reasons for playing hockey inside are becoming abundantly more clear.

Many of you are asking, what about the Fill the Steins Unofficial Frozen Fenway Pre-Pre-Game Party at the Boston Beer Works. For all of those who have already signed up for our event, rest assured that we will hold up our end of the bargain with just one minor change. From this point forward (barring any further game time changes) our event will revert back to the original name, Fill the Steins Unofficial Frozen Fenway Pre-Game Party. While we had planned to be the party before the party before the game we felt it was important to maintain our time and be a constant in a sea of change for our hundreds or loyal followers. Our special guests, “Bar Ambiance”, and autograph sessions will still kick-off at 1:30pm. However, with our stein filling window shortened due to the time change you can expect to find FTS members at BBW earlier in the afternoon.

We understand that this is in direct conflict with the UMAA’s pre-game party and some of you will have to make a choice on which event to attend. As we like to say, when life gives you lemons send them back and ask for a double vodka tonic. No hard feelings if you are unable to attend one or both of the parties, the most important thing is that Black Bear fans come out in numbers to cheer our team on to victory.

Lastly, while many of you are traveling by car or bus to the event, our founders will be traveling by train. So if you are on the 692 Downeaster on Saturday morning, keep an eye out for those handsome guys in Fill the Steins gear. You might also see a former UMaine hockey player or two, just saying. Travel safe and as always #FillTheSteins!
