WWJD: Where Will Jimmy Drink

Jimmy spent President’s Day Weekend studying our forefathers in great detail as he lined up Washingtons and Lincolns on the bar. Maybe it wasn’t the best method for learning about the great men who have led our fine nation, but he did discover a tiny owl on the one dollar bill, so there’s that. Needless to say Jimmy needs to spend more time in the classroom and less time in the taproom if he ever hopes of getting off academic probation not to mention graduating. But spring break starts TODAY, so that buys Jimmy just a bit more time to fill the steins. Here are his top picks for those sticking around Orono this weekend.
Men’s Hockey vs Providence (Friday & Saturday, Alfond Arena): Coach Red Gendron wrote an open letter to all UMaine Hockey Fans thanking them for their support all season long and asking for a MASSIVE TURNOUT at Alfond for the Providence series. The Black Bears can finish the regular season anywhere from 2nd to 7th place which could be the difference between a first round bye or not. Saturday will also be senior night where several of the team’s starters will be honored during their last regular season game. With a 12-1 record at home this season, Jimmy isn’t changing any of his pre-game routine, a Colt 45 Double-Malt Wide Mouth 40 ounce brown-bagged from the Hilltop lot to Alfond. Go Blue!
Black Bears of Bangor Social (Buchanan Alumni House, Orono): There’s one reason that Jimmy likes going to alumni events; single women who have jobs. What better way to pre-pre-game on Saturday afternoon than a stop over to the alumni house for the Black Bears of Bangor social as part of the UMAA Spring Road Trip. It may seemed far fetched, but Jimmy plans to one day graduate from UMaine. Although his five year plan may stretch into seven or eight years he’ll eventually be an alumni.
Greyhound Bus to Spring Break in Panama City Beach: It was a bit of a last minute thing, but when Jimmy heard that Steve Aoki would be performing at Spring Break, he bought his Greyhound ticket and he’s leaving town Sunday. It will only take 4 transfers and 47 hours of travel time, but by Tuesday afternoon Jimmy will be sitting in the sand on Florida’s Gulf Coast enjoying a couple of cold ones along with some epic parties. He’s been training his liver for months to be ready for the next two weeks, let’s hope Jimmy makes Fill The Steins Nation proud.
