UMaine Hockey’s biggest weekend might be the next one

HockeyMaineUNHThe University of Maine Men’s Ice Hockey team isn’t the worst team in Hockey East; the University of New Hampshire is having an equally tough season. The good news is that a hybrid home-and-away series between the teams will take place in Manchester, NH and Portland, ME this coming weekend and is a chance for the Black Bears to gain some traction and move forward into the second half of the season.

So naturally this week’s Fill The Steins Podcast was dedicated to the big rivalry series this coming weekend. We were first joined by Co-Chairperson of the Black Bears of Portland, Matt Burgess, who checked in with details of their group’s great, no cover charge event on Saturday evening at Fore Play in the Old Port prior to the game. Later we were joined by our favorite rink-side reporter, Whitneigh Kinne, for her Maine Hockey segment “Behind the Bench” to find out what the Black Bears need to do score a win this weekend.
