Black Bear Baseball Postseason Preview

For the fifth year in a row, the University of Maine baseball team has qualified for the America East tournament. This year’s road to a conference championship and a berth in the NCAA baseball tournament will, without question, be a challenging one. Maine enters the America East tournament as the #4 (out of four) seed after finishing the regular season with a 10-11 conference record and an overall mark of 24-27. For their troubles, Maine will play #1 seed Stony Brook (18-5 AE, 33-16 overall) when the championships kick off at 2pm on Thursday in Lowell, MA.

Black Bear Baseball FTS: Friday to Sunday

The University of Maine baseball team seems to be hitting their stride at exactly the right time. Heading into this weekend’s regular season-ending series against UMBC at Mahaney Diamond, the Black Bears had won three of their last four games, including a 12-3 victory over Boston College in Sanford on Tuesday. In addition, Maine had already clinched a berth in the four team America East baseball tournament with last Sunday’s win over Albany.
