FTS Al Fresco: Ebenezer’s

FTS Al Fresco takes a trip north and west of Portland to Lovell, where, near the border with New Hampshire, a beer-lover’s paradise awaits. What better place to Fill Your Stein?

After all these years, Pat’s Pizza still brings the goodness to Black Bear Nation

Fill The Steins continues our Classic UMaine Restaurants series with our profile of the classic-est of ’em all, Pat’s Pizza in Orono!

Do you remember the Pizza Dome in Old Town?

If you were lucky enough to have attended the University of Maine from the late 1970′s through the early 2000′s you may have had the chance to visit a truly unique dining experience known as the Pizza Dome.

FTS Al Fresco: The Black Frog

We’ll drive, sled, or fly north to the shores of Moosehead Lake for a look at a FTS Al Fresco experience that comes complete with a Skinny Dip! No, really!

Where to Watch the 2014 World Cup in Maine

Maine isn’t necessarily a hot bed of soccer fandom, the World Cup offers the unique opportunity to come out of the dark corners those Irish Pubs or your buddy’s mancave in the basement and actually enjoy the beautiful game with the rest of the general population of sports fans. Here is a look at my recommendations on where to go to catch the matches around the Pine Tree State.

Maine’s Newest Distillery: Wiggly Bridge

In a very unassuming storefront on Railroad Avenue in the heart of York Beach lies what just might be the next great place to Fill The Steins in Maine. On Sunday I visited Wiggly Bridge Distillery, the newest of only seven (by my count) spirit producers in Maine and the only one located in the summer tourist mecca of southern York County.

FTS Al Fresco: Eve’s at the Garden

This week we are happy to take a look at a hidden Portland patio with fresh air, great food and drink, and plenty of options for filling your stein: Eve’s at the Garden, the bar and restaurant at the Portland Harbor Hotel.

FTS Al Fresco: Novare Res Bier Cafe

Novare Res Bier Cafe leads the way. Why, you might ask? Because it’s my favorite, that’s why. And who’s writing this column, anyway? In addition to being wicked close to the office at my day job (yeah, FTS doesn’t pay too well…), the deck at Novare Res is certainly one of my preferred spots in all of New England.’Novare Res’ in Latin means ‘to start a revolution.’

About "Fill The Steins": A multimedia platform devoted to providing an informative, entertaining forum that celebrates "the college of our hearts always" and its graduates' contributions to academics, athletics, and popular culture, as created by alumni and students, for alumni and students.
