WWJD: Where Will Jimmy Drink

Editor’s Note: WWJD or Where Will Jimmy Drink is our new weekly round-up of all the great places to fill your steins this upcoming weekend. Whether it be on campus events, bar specials, or concerts coming to town, Jimmy will bring you his top picks for places to drink each and every weekend so you can govern yourself accordingly.

Talk about pressure, this WWJD report is probably one of the most important of the semester considering everyone will be heading home for Thanksgiving next week to be questioned by their family members about police reports, questionable Facebook posts, and grades. No worries, Jimmy’s got you covered with the top places to quench your thirst and have some fun around town this weekend.
Margarita’s After Work (Margarita’s, Orono): Where else would Jimmy start his weekend but his favorite watering hole, Margarita’s, where the drink specials are plentiful and the lounge lizards are always lurking. From 4pm-7pm you can get $5 “After Work” margaritas, but Jimmy goes with his standard 20oz Dos Equis Lager which is on tap for $4.

Jeff Dunham (Cross Insurance Center, Bangor): Jimmy likes nothing more than watching a bunch of perverted muppets tell jokes after a couple of PBR pounders and that’s just what he’ll do Friday night as Jeff Dunham returns to town for a show. Honestly, who doesn’t need a good laugh after that calculus exam this week?

Blind Albert (Nocturnem Draft Haus, Bangor): Blues Rock and Brews, what a perfect combination as Blind Albert perform a mix of tunes Friday Night at one of Jimmy’s favorite stein filling places, Nocturnem. He’ll finish off his night by grabbing a pint of “Big John” Imperial Stout on tap from Goose Island. With 11% alcohol content he’ll be as loose as a goose for that taxi ride back to campus.
UMaine Football @ UNH (Durham, NH): Jimmy doesn’t condone drinking and driving, so plan to take a bus or carpool to this one, but our football team is looking to cap off a perfect season in conference play with a win at UNH this Saturday at 12pm. The battle for the Brice-Cowell musket is always intense, so any fans making the trip are encourage to meet up with the UMaine tailgating crew to get good and primed before heading into the game.
UMaine Hockey vs BC (Alfond Arena, Orono): Nothing like a brown-bag walk down from Hilltop to Alfond to get you in the mood for some hockey as Maine hosts BC on Saturday night at 7pm. The Black Bears are currently tied for fourth while the Eagles come in ranked second in Hockey East, so the student section will surely be rocking for this early season match-up.
