WWJD: Where Will Jenny Drink

Expecting someone else? Well if you are looking for Jimmy, he’s still down in Panama City Beach partying with Steve Aoki for Spring Break 2014. Me, on the other hand, I am just a freshmen and am working full time at Bell’s IGA during break to help pay my bills. Let me introduce myself, my name is Jenny, I am Jimmy’s cousin and in my first year at Orono. Although we are related by blood we are cut from not quite the same cloth. The good news is we both share a common interest in going out for a good time. While I’m not quite old enough to enjoy the bars like Jimmy I still know how to have fun around town. Here are my picks this weekend for anyone who is still around campus.
Women’s Basketball vs Hartford Watch Party (Seasons Grill, Bangor): I’ve been going to UMaine girls b-ball games since I was a kid, it is good to see the glory days of the program returning this season. The girls are traveling to Albany as the No. 4 seed in the America East tournament and Seasons Grill is hosting a watch party for their first round game on Friday Night at 8pm. Coach Barron and his staff have done an amazing job getting the program back on track and as long as the shots fall this weekend there’s no reason they couldn’t make a run through the tourney.
Men’s Hockey vs Merrimack (Hockey East Playoffs, Alfond Arena): This is totally a no brainer, if you are anywhere within the sound of my voice you should be at this game, Saturday Night at 7pm. The Black Bears are hosting a first round playoff game for the first time in several seasons and Alfond needs to be rocking. With Jimmy and most of the other students away on break I will be up in the student section with a couple of my sorority sisters trying to keep it loud. Tickets for non-students are still available here and the weather is supposed to be alright so make the trip up to Orono and cheer them on. Oh and Mark Anthoine is a mega hottie, I’ll miss watching him.
Park Shark Series – Big Air Competition (Saddleback Mountain): So I’ll finally get a day off from bagging groceries and stocking shelves on Sunday so I am heading up to Saddleback to strap on the board and hit the terrain park. The Park Shark Series will have their big air competition starting at Noon and anyone can sign-up at the base lodge prior to that. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t expect to win, but I shred alright for a girl and can’t wait to get out there.
I hope you have a great weekend, maybe I will see you around campus, and let’s hope my cousin makes it back from Spring Break alright.
